Décovi, a member of the Acrotec Group and a Swiss specialist in high-precision turned parts machining, has developed unique expertise in tungsten machining — a material with exceptional properties that is particularly difficult to process. In short, tungsten is used wherever compromise is not an option.
Tungsten delivers unmatched performance thanks to a unique combination of physical properties. It stands out for its very high density (close to that of gold), high hardness, excellent resistance to heat and extreme conditions, very low thermal expansion, long-term stability, and strong resistance to wear and corrosion. These characteristics make it a premium material for demanding industries such as watchmaking, aerospace, and medtech.
To meet the challenges of tungsten machining, Décovi has developed an integrated approach over the past 15 years, notably based on the use of slugs (material blanks), which are better suited than bars for certain complex applications. This approach helps minimize material consumption throughout the process.

Specialized Expertise with Multi-Industry Applications
Décovi masters various processes, including the machining of pure tungsten, tungsten-copper-nickel alloys, as well as components produced through sintering or Metal Injection Molding (MIM) for complex geometries.
Décovi supports its customers in the production of critical components such as watch oscillating weights, medical implant components — particularly cochlear implants — balancing weights for aerospace applications, and components used in seismography.
These applications require extremely high precision and perfect repeatability, which Décovi guarantees through its expertise.

Firing Pin
Complete Industrial Mastery
The company operates a workshop dedicated to tungsten, integrating machining, washing, inspection, and finishing operations. It relies on an adapted turning and milling machine park, in-house developed tooling, and closed-loop correction systems to optimize both cost efficiency and quality.
Décovi is capable of producing both small and large series, with tolerances reaching 3 microns on parts up to 30 mm in diameter, including surface treatments and finishing operations.

Magnetron
A True Competitive Advantage for Critical Applications
« Tungsten is a complex material that requires complete process mastery. Our expertise allows us to support our customers on high value-added components that we help co-design, with a high level of reliability and repeatability, », says Cédric Chèvre, CEO of Décovi.
At a time when machining critical materials has become a major industrial challenge, Décovi stands out as a leading industrial partner serving highly technical applications.
