Reducing our energy footprint: optimizing our production machinery

At Décovi SA, we are determined to play an active role in preserving the environment and reducing our carbon footprint. As part of this commitment, we have launched an ambitious project to optimize the energy consumption of our production machines, in partnership with EDJ, a specialist in energy efficiency.

Our approach is based on a meticulous analysis of our production processes, to identify potential sources of energy waste. Thanks to precise electrical measurements and an in-depth assessment of our machines’ behavior, we have been able to implement specific strategies to reduce our energy consumption, while maintaining quality and production deadlines.

In concrete terms, this involves collecting data on the energy consumption of our machines over a given period, followed by an in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. Based on these results, we implemented corrective actions such as optimizing the operating parameters of our machines and setting up specific shutdown procedures during periods of non-use.

The initial results of our project are encouraging. We have identified several production machines that can reduce their energy consumption during periods of low activity, which represents a significant saving in terms of kWh. In addition, programming adjustments have reduced the overconsumption of certain machines in standby mode, generating further savings.

All in all, these initiatives have already enabled us to achieve substantial energy savings, amounting to 84 MWh/year – equivalent to the consumption of almost 20 Swiss households! This demonstrates the significant impact of our actions in favour of environmental sustainability. This is just the beginning, and we are determined to continue our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future for all.

This project marks the beginning of an ongoing process to optimize the energy efficiency of all our facilities.
